She's arrived.
For nearly a year, I have been looking for a cheapish 24v Senator to replace my old one that suffered a gasget blow. And now I have her. I'll post some pics when i get the chance.
Although, I drove here al the way from Doncaster without a problem.. I have now had here a few weeks, and shes starting to play up in this hot weather.
Things wrong and to sort:
* Overheating to the extent that the water in boiling out through the header tank pressure cap and simply bubling away... I also fins that if I park facing downhill I loose more water. Will replace the header tank ( design faul causes cracks in the outflow - sorted on later models ), replace header tank unit, ans check top and bottom hoses for leaks, cracks and signs of wear.
* Will perform a carot test - to check the strangth of the viscos fan
* will flush coolent system whislt parts are free.. and refill with radseal to help prolong the rads life.
* Heater is basicly warm when on cold and red hot when on hot with no sweep of the temp as you select the climate control. WIll investigate this.. prob some research needed first. Could be connection mis alighnment post dashbard removal years ago to replace a bulb or somthing.
* Rear arches are starting to look tatty, and will need to be done before they start to really go, and become an expensive replacement job. Car needs a bloody good clean, t cut and polish. Wheels could do with a refurbish.. but can't make my mind up if there staying or not. So I'll probably just gove them a good scubbing.
* Intention is to replace the HT leads ( full set ) - you can get them cheap via autobarnstormers club.. and 6 new spark plugs.
* Engine flush, oil change - new oil filter and gearbox oil drain and refill ( including rear diff ).
* Brakes inspection and replace any worn parts now.. then blead system, drain and refill with new fluid ( god nows how long its been in there ).
* Power staering needs topping up, and tyeres correct inflation.
* Air con needs looking at - no cold blow from it - could just be re-gas ( bet its still on old type ) and will now need to be swoped over to new gas spec.. hmm!
* Electric airial needs a little wd40 to slide all the way up, and passanger side front window is a little slow.
* need to replace front bumper as there is a crack in it
* I will probably at some point chage the grey leather out for black.. including all door trims, arms rest, center dash suround ect.. much pref black.. but that depends on the how the above goes.
* Would like a respray to BR Green or Black - but we'll see.
